  • My car got flooded. What package do you recommend?
In this case scenario. This is where top notch experience comes in. We receive calls all the time that windows have been left open and flooded the vehicle interior. Many people think that detailing and vacuuming as much water as you can will solve the problem followed by air drying but this case is much more than trying to extract water. Many detailers take on this job and remove water from the removable carpets and fixed carpets. The car airs out for a few days and then you find that mold starts to grow. This is due to the unexperienced detailer not understanding the matter that the insulation below the fixed carpets is the source pooling with water. With our company..... We are well researched and like to get to the source. Before we schedule any detail service for a flooded vehicle. We recommend visiting your local auto upholster to remove the old insulation and they will vacuum up any water from the body frame of the vehicle and air dry it out. Then new insulation will be placed in with %100 guarantee that no mold will spawn. After replacing the insulation. This is where our company comes in to properly vacuum and extract the fixed and removable carpets followed by steaming and carpet shampoo. This will leave the car refreshed with no mildew odors and peace of mind.
  • My vehicle was in a flood. How do i remove water and avoid mold?
09/2/2021 Hurricane Ida made landfall in NJ and caused a lot of damage but for the most part. That damage was mostly from the amount of rain and flooding the storm produced leaving many car owners with vehicles in water up to the doors but also leaving car owners with the question of how do i get all of this water out of the vehicle. The biggest concern of it all is how do you avoid the mold to follow after a vehicle falling victim to flooding. Here at ILLUSIONZ MOBILE AUTO SPA. We received a high volume of phone calls over the next few days after the storm in regards to the flooded car issue and unfortunately the honest truth here is that there is not much a detailer can do to prevent the inevitable mold situation. Here at our company, we use knowledge to understand how to properly approach a flooded vehicle and to simply tell a client that a good vacuum and extraction of water from carpets is the solution is NOT the solution. It is not the solution but in fact only part of the solution. Many detailers fail to communicate with their clients and end up with a bad review when they make a guarantee that after drying the car there will be no mold, only to discover 3 or 4 days later there is mold growing after the car was detailed and dried out. Again drying the car and detailing the interior is not the solution to fix the situation. Understand that when a vehicle gets flooded, that water not only is absorbed by your removable carpets but also gets absorbed by the insulation that is under the undercarpeting (Carpeting that can not be removed). When a flooded vehicle is detailed and you still have a mildew smell, that is because there is still standing water where the body frame and insulation of the vehicle is. The right way to address a flooded vehicle is to have the insulation replaced or dried out and all standing water vacuumed out by your local mechanic or an auto upholster which will 100% avoid mold and at that point then you can visit a detailer like ILLUSIONZ MOBILE AUTO SPA to have an interior detailed performed . Here at ILLUSIONZ MOBILE AUTO SPA. We do not do things in reverse. We move forward in one shot. A one way street.

  • My car smells like smoke, can you get the smell out?"
Smoke odor removal can be a very tricky job as there can never be a solid yes or guarantee. Because smoke is weightless, it defies gravity in which it rises to the headliner and embeds the nicotine into the fabrics of the headliner. Most times it is impossible to completely remove the smoke odor %100 because the odor stems from beyond the headliner where the glue is making it unreachable for us to clean. You'll notice that in the day time you have a stronger odor of the smoke and at night you do not smell it as strong. This is because when the sun heats up the roof of a car, it then becomes hot thus reactivating the nicotine in the headliner. We can improve the odor from the interior but the ony way to completely remove the odor is to replace the headliner and the cabin air filter.
  • I just bought a new car, should i wax it?"
We get this question often and the answer is yes. Although a new car rolls off the lot looking shiny that does not mean it is well protected. Usually dealerships use a cheap wax when delivering a car that makes it look good temporarily. At best these waxes will last only a few days or a week if you're lucky. It is recommended to protect a new car with a polymer wax or ceramic coating as this will protect the paint for months or years to come. This will protect the paint from road salt, bird poop, acid rain, sprinkler hard water, and other elements of the environment.
  • What's the difference between wax and ceramic coating
Wax has always played a major role in car care protection. There are many waxes on the market. Some that are naturally produced from the carnauba tree and some that are produced synthetically like polymer wax. Wax usually only lasts a few weeks to a few months and provide a good source of protection. Ceramic coatings on the other hand are a new game changer providing unparallel protection against the natural elements. Ceramic coating protection last years and bonds to your clear coat giving it a barrier that is as hard as 9h diamonds. Although ceramic coatings are great, it is important to understand that it is not a superman coating and does not prevent scratches or rock chips.
